- Scripting is a very powerful tool in FileMaker that allows you to specify a series of actions that can be triggered in a variety of different ways. Adding this type of automation can be very easy. For example, if you have a button you can add a script step to it. FileMaker has over 400 different script steps each of which mimics an action that can be performed inside the database. But what happens when you want more than one action to occur at a time? In that case, you have to be able to write something that stores several different script steps in a certain order and many of them might have parameters that you need to store as well. So, in order to do that you have to author a script. And FileMaker 14 has a new place for you to be able to write scripts in a fashion that's even easier than it's ever been before so now's a good time to be getting familiar with scripting.
