Sorting with single criteria

- [Instructor] You may notice that each time you open up a Filemaker database the default order in which you see the records really doesn't have much relevance. What you're actually looking at is the original order in which these records were created but a lot of times that doesn't help you either way when you're working with your Filemaker data. Sometimes you want to do things like export data or create a report where the order of the records actually matters. In those cases what you need to do is sort your records. First of all, it's important to know that sorting only works against a found set. Right away I'm going to keep all 1,523 records in the exercise file as my found set. I can do that by hitting show all and if I would have created a found set of all the records from California the sort I'm about to perform would only perform against the found set.
