Sorting with single criteria

- [Instructor] In many of the exercises in this course, we've been working with multiple records. But you may have noticed, as you open up each file, that the records are in order that really doesn't have much relevance. It's not alphabetical order, not by contact, not by year or anything like that. What's happening is that when you first open a FileMaker file and look at multiple records, it's going to give you those records in an order in which they were originally added to the database. In cases of reporting, or printing, or exporting, or even just viewing the data, that might not always be the desired way to look at your data. So in this movie, I'm going to show you how you can sort records in FileMaker. You can sort any layout using simply the Sort dialogue window. So, for example, first of all I've got a found set of 1523 records, as you see here in the upper left-hand corner. All of the records are showing.
