- [Instructor] Deploying your apps on FileMaker server is the key to allowing access to those apps for many different users at the same time. Now once you've decided that you're going to use FileMaker server, your next decision is whether or not you're going to want to own your own server or host in the cloud. This is referred to as On Premises versus FileMaker Cloud. So if you're already have a server that you can dedicate towards your FileMaker Server machine, you could explore On Premises options. So if you don't own hardware, or frankly you're not interested in owning server hardware, you're going to want to move to the cloud. Now keep in mind, if you decide to host your own server, you'll need to get a FileMaker server licence. And then you'll need to install and configure that server on your own machines. And in that case, you're going to want to make sure that you check to see what the hardware and software requirements…
