A database application is really going to handle three core elements, and that involves the architecture of your data. And in FileMaker in particular we discussed being able to build tables and fields, that's the architecture of your database. There's also input, making sure that we're allowing users to input data effectively. And we did that through developing layouts. And finally, there's output. We also touched on output in the form of printing and exporting, but outputting isn't specific to just reporting, or being able to print out or export data. Output also means that you're putting certain data into the system, and it's aggregating that data, and spitting out some data. So a really powerful database doesn't just store the data, but it outputs it, or does something to it and presents you with information that you didn't originally put into the system.
