Getting to know the interface
- [Instructor] Once you have FileMaker installed and you've done a quick look at the preferences, it's now time to start working with the application. And the first step in understanding how to work with the application is to take a look at the interface and learn a little bit about the different modes that FileMaker uses. Now in FileMaker pro you'll notice across the top of the screen we have something called the status toolbar. Now you'll see in the far upper left hand corner is the area where you can manage different records. I'm going to talk about this as we go through different movies in this course, but what you should understand is that those arrows that you see there allow you to navigate from record to record. So right now, the number six indicates that I'm on the sixth record in the found set, which is the active record, and I can use these arrows to move around to different records if I want, or if I…
