Determining which tables your solutions will need
There are a couple of different methods, that you could use to create a FileMaker Pro database. First of which would be to use one of the templates or starter solutions that we've discussed in previous movies that are already pre-built for you. And that way you can just go ahead, and make some modifications, add some data, and you're ready to roll. But another option, which is actually a lot more popular, is to create a database from scratch. Or to build all of the components from the ground up. And that's what we're going to be doing for the remainder of this title. Now, in order to build the database from scratch, you're going to need to make a few decisions about what type of information or data is going to to be stored within these databases. This is a very important first step before you actually crack open the FileMaker application.
