Defining fields

- In order to add fields to your database, you need to first determine what tables you're going to have. Then what fields and which fields go into which tables and finally, what types of fields they will be. Since we've already made all those decisions, we're ready to start defining fields into our database. There's a few different ways that you can define fields within FileMaker Pro, the first of which is inside this Quick Table View. This is the view that looks a lot like a spreadsheet. This is the default view you'll see when you first create a database, for example. What you can do is just simply hit the + button here. You can name a field and you can even pull down what the field type would be as well, so Field, Field Type and you can create those on the fly. You can also delete those.
