- [Instructor] Date and Time functions are some of the easiest ones to learn because the syntaxes are really simple. These functions really fall into two categories. One of those categories will be the functions that extract a bit of information from a value and the other ones that construct a date or time from various values. I'm going to use the Data Viewer technique here where I open up the Data Viewer under the Tools menu and if you don't have a Tools menu you have to go into Preferences and turn it on, like I've discussed in various other movies and go over to the Watch tab and hit the Plus button. This is giving you the Edit expression dialog that allows us to author our expression while we see the result. Now the results going to come from the record that we have behind us here.
