In the last movie we were talking about relationships, and we've been talking about relationships between a parent and child table. We looked at how we can place related fields on a layout based on the child in the parent-child relationship so that they can borrow values from the parent table, thus eliminating the need for redundant data in your database. However, we've only been looking at using related fields from the context of the child table. Let's see what happens when we use related fields from the context of the parent. So we have a one-to-many relationship between the Customer table and the Invoice table. So what happens if we go into Layout mode, and let's say we go into Financial, and we're going to drop a field on here, and instead of coming from the Customer table let's pull it from the Invoices table, so this would be the same concept that we did in the context of Invoice, and let's say InvoiceDate, for example.
