Creating and duplicating records

- Once you've got the structure of your database in place, meaning the tables, the fields to find, and even your relationships, then you can start working with data. In this chapter we're gonna talk about working with records. I want to start first by talking about creating records. Now if you open up the exercise file Untitled_07_01, you'll notice that we have two records of data. How do I know we have two records of data? Well, if you look in the upper left-hand corner, you'll see that in the status toolbar, we have a total number of two records, and it tells us that we're currently on record number one. That's how we know how many records are in any given table. A record in the database is an instance of whatever we're storing in the database. So in this case, it's the customer's table, and we're storing information about customers, so technically, we have two customer records in our database.
