Controlling object visibility when printing

When you're thinking about allowing your users to be able to print the layouts that you've created in FileMaker, there's a couple of things you might want to take into consideration. First of all, remember that your users can print any layout that they can see on screen. So you might want to be able to optimize layouts for print, create maybe separate layouts completely. But if you want to be able to take layouts that users are going to interact with in Browse mode and optimize them for printing, one of the things you're probably going to want to do is not allow them to print extraneous things on screen. Like, for example, you can see here on my customer list these up and down arrows or these buttons. These provide functionality to the user, but they don't need to be printed. So one of that ways that you can control and maybe clean up the printing experience, is to be able to conditionally hide things, so that they only show up in Browse mode, and they don't show up when they print…
