Controlling layout object behaviors

- [Instructor] Sometimes when you place a field on a FileMaker layout it's really just there for display, rather than to allow users to edit the data within the field. A great example of that are going to be primary keys. Of course, those are part of the default fields that are provided every time we create a table. They're meant to uniquely identify a record within the table, but what's really important, especially when you're doing relationships, is that nobody changes that value. So, in that case you still want to show it on a layout because it's now going to be the unique identifier for a customer. You still want your users to search on it, but you don't want them to be able to edit it. So how do we do that? Well, it's pretty simple. If you go into Layout mode and select a field, in this case our primary key, and go over into your Inspector pane and look at the Behavior section, you'll notice here that we've got…
