- [Instructor] One of the strengths of FileMaker apps is their ability to share data with other applications. The exchange of data allows FileMaker apps to coordinate functionality with enterprise level systems. Additionally, by integrating data from various sources, FileMaker apps can coordinate dashboards and reports that present a unified view of otherwise disconnected systems. FileMaker data can also be accessed from other technologies using ODBC, JDBC, XML, or the FileMaker data API. In addition, FileMaker apps can access data stored in other systems in these same manners. In this video I'm going to concentrate on ODBC connectivity. To give you an idea of what we're talking about, let's say I've got a FileMaker app and a non-FileMaker app and I want to exchange data between the two of them.
