Connecting via external SQL sources

- ESS or External SQL Sources, is best described as a tool that allows FileMaker apps to access information stored in other database systems. It's not intended to increase the scalability of FileMaker apps. In fact, its existence means that we don't have to be concerned about the scalability of FileMaker apps, because FileMaker can connect persistently to enterprise level database stores. It's not meant that FileMaker should just exclusively be a "front end" without any of its own data, it's meant that you can integrate data from other sources live into the workflow of your existing FileMaker custom apps. It's really about integration, allowing seamless integration of FileMaker data and workflow with data stored in these SQL databases.
