- [Instructor] Once you've successfully installed FileMaker Server, you may need to configure the installation to create an environment best suited for your specific deployment scenario. You'll always want to monitor the server behavior and performance to make sure it's meeting your performance availability goals. Now all configurations and maintenance for FileMaker Server are handled via the Admin Console which is a brand new refreshed interface that's been rolled out for FileMaker Server 17. And it's based on the admin API. You will have been prompted to setup a username and password when you've first installed FileMaker Server and you'll use that to log in to the Admin Console to be your configuration. There's actually a message right after installation that prompts you to open up the configuration tool so in that case you would still have to authenticate.
