Assigning script steps to buttons

If you're just starting to get familiar with scripting in FileMaker, one of the easiest ways to do that is to assign just a single script step to one of the layout objects on your layout. In turn, those objects will then act as something called a button, and when pressed or executed, they'll perform the action that you assigned to it. So let me show you what I mean here in our Customer Detail Layout. I am going to go into Layout mode, and any layout object that's on screen can become this thing called the button, whether it's a field or a field label or an image. So the screen plus sign, I'd like to be able to assign the action to it to create a new record. That way users can just hit the button. I can train them to do that. I don't have to teach them about menus and keyboard shortcuts and all that type of thing.
