Adding find criteria to a script

Finding records is one of the most common tasks that users perform in FileMaker Pro databases. As a result, finding records is also a common action that scripts are called on to perform. Scripts can be set up to perform any search a user performs manually and even some that they cannot perform manually. Because you can control a scripted search as a developer more easily than you can a manual search, scripted searches are often more efficient and reliable. There are several script steps that may be involved in finding records, and we can take a look at them by going under Scripts, Manage Scripts and then double-click on the Print Welcome Letter. It brings up our Edit Script dialog, and if we isolate the categories to the Found Set group, we can see that all of these are script steps that are relevant to searching for records.
