Adding find criteria to a script: Static finds
- Finding records is one of the most common tasks that users perform in FileMaker. As a result, finding records is also a common action that scripts are called on to perform. Now, scripts can be set up to to perform any search that the users perform manually and even some that they cannot perform actually. And it really breaks down into two different types of finds. What we're going to explore here is what's called a static find where we're actually going to build in the search parameters into our scripts so that the user does not have to interact with the system to create the found set. If we go into our scripting workspace, you see what we're doing here is printing a custom welcome letter. And in this case what we're doing is we're navigating to a record. You can see that when we're printing, that we're printing the current record in a certain view. I'm going to change that to records being browsed. Of course if…
