Create and manage FigJam files

- [Narrator] In this video, we will make some FigJam files. Now, I could start in an existing project in an existing team. This Rabbit Blanket Project is a place where my colleague has been working in Figma, so there are several Figma files here already, but maybe there are other people at my company who are not experienced with Figma. Maybe they're not really involved with interface design at all, but they do want to communicate with the team and share their ideas. So make sure you have the project selected and then you can click the plus button just to the right of that project name and create a new FigJam file from there or you can go to the top right where it says New and create new FigJam file. So that makes the file and this is the FigJam workspace. Now, before I do anything, I like to name my file, so I'll go to this menu up here at the top. I'll choose Rename and I'm just going to call this Brainstorm. Hit the Return key and that's set. Now, we have several tools at the bottom that you can use to draw, add pictures and shapes, and so on, basically working in an advanced whiteboard space. We're going to explore those tools in another video. But for now, I'm just going to make a note, drop that on my space, and I'm going to type something in that note, and we'll leave it for now and I want to exit this file. So I'll go to this menu near the top left and I'll choose Back to Files. So now along with the Figma files in this project, I now have that FigJam file that I just created. Figma files are blue and FigJam files are purple and they can all coexist in the same project. Okay, let's make another file, but this time, I'm going to the new project that I just created. With that project selected, of course, I could click the plus button here or New over here in the top right. But instead of just making a FigJam file, this time, I'm going to make a new file from a template. So I'll click Browse Templates and up here at the top with these two tabs, you want to make sure you select the tab for FigJam templates. Now, you can preview a template by pointing at it, then clicking the Preview button just to get an idea of what's contained in this template and then you can click the back button and continue to browse. And then once you've chosen the one you want to use, you can just select it and click Use Template. So now we're in that same workspace, but it has some sample elements already laid out. You can use this for inspiration or you could modify or duplicate the elements here to start your own project. But once again, I do want to give this a name, so I'll go to the menu up at the top and choose Rename, type that in and hit Return. Now, there's one more thing I'd like to see. Of course, the people who are members of the team where this project is stored will all be able to access this file, but there's also a share option near the top right corner so you can share a file with people outside of the team. Just put in their email address and choose whether they should have edit or view only access. For now, I'm just going to close that. And we're done for now, so I'll go to that menu near the top left and I'll choose Back to Files. So from the project screen, you could right-click on a file and you could rename or duplicate it from here or you can delete it if you are really done with that file. Or to open an existing file, just double-click on it here, and then you can go to that menu up at the top where you could rename it, you could duplicate it, or you could even delete it from here. So whether you're starting a new project or team or if you want to add FigJam files to an existing project, setting up and managing your FigJam files is pretty easy.
