Once a 3D building information model, or BIM file, is imported into a Fieldwire project, it is available for the entire project team to view, no matter what device they are using. In this video, Jim discusses how to access the 3D models on a mobile device, which includes Android and iPad, and explains the gestures that you need to know in order to navigate the 3D model on a mobile device like a phone or tablet.
- [Instructor] As I said earlier, … the 3D models do need to be added to Fieldwire … from within the Fieldwire web app. … But once they're there, … the models are available for viewing here in the mobile app. … So I'm on an Android device and I have Fieldwire open, … I have our sample project loaded … and if I click in the upper left on the menu button … you'll see, I now have right after plans, 3D models tab. … If I tap on 3D models, … there's the model that I loaded in previously, … a video or two ago. … And you can see the thumbnail there, … all I have to do is tap on that thumbnail … to load and open my 3D model … for viewing here on my mobile device. … Now you see it loaded pretty quick. … I have just one menu button down in the lower right corner … that allows me to go home, this is my home view. … From here to navigate, I'm just going to use finger gestures … and those are pinch to zoom in, … pinch and swipe out to zoom out. … And you'll see here as I'm going through this navigation …
