- There is a certain benefit to using a hardware recording. You see, computers sometimes crash and if the webinar was to go down because of a battery going dead on a laptop or somebody knocking something over or a cable getting disconnected, well the software record might crash or get screwed up and then you've lost all that work, but hardware recording gives you the ability to record to a media card. Now there are many solutions for this and some folks will just use another computer, but I prefer a dedicated media recorder. In this case, I've got something called a Shogun and the Shogun makes it very easy to run in a video signal. I'm taking in an HDMI signal here which works just fine and you can pull that in, but there's a couple of ways to go about that. You might recall earlier we talked about the Blackmagic Web Presenter. This is taking in the HDMI feed from the camera and feeding it into the computer for the Facebook Live. Well, it also has a looping outpoint here so the video…
