Connecting a professional camera to your computer
- While web cameras are great they're not necessarily the best cameras that you own. Facebook can actually work with any video camera. You just need to get some hardware in between the computer and the pro camera. Now in this case, I've got a medium range pro camera. This is a mirror-less camera, it's a Panasonic GH Series, and this is very popular for people who use it for corporate video production. You can actually go with higher end cameras but any camera that has either an HDMI port or an HDSDI port can be adapted to work with Facebook Live. In this case, it's pretty simple. The camera's on tripod because I can't maintain it, and we've taken a cable out, this is an HDMI cable and that runs down. Now, let me head back to the computer and I'll show you how this connects. Now, what needs to happen is we need to get the HMDI signal into the computer. While most computers have the ability to go out HDMI, they don't have an input ability and there's lots of hardware options available…
