- Another thing that you can do to improve the experience on a computer is switch to a dedicated mic. Now, your laptop or your computer may have a built-in mic, but the distance from here all the way to here is kinda far. And if you're gonna be close enough to that mic, you really want it to be about this far away. Now, this web camera is closer. It's at eye level, so that's helping, but even still it's not quite close enough. So there are a few things that we can do. Now here, I have a dedicated USB microphone. And this allows me to connect this simply to my computer using a USB cable, and that can run right into the computer. Once you've done that, it will show up as another device. Just make sure that it's plugged in, check the connection on your computer, and you'll see that it appears as another option under Input.
