File Geodatabase to SHP

- [Instructor] A file geodatabase is an Esri file format that actually contains many files. It contains feature classes or feature datasets, raster, schematics, tables, and toolboxes. It's used quite extensively inside of ArcGIS Pro. The nice thing about it is that it bundles everything up on all the feature classes and all that sort of stuff into one big group or one big file. We're going to create a brand new workspace that turns that file geodatabase into a bunch of separate shapefiles 'cause sometimes you want to break it out into separate files to share or to modify individually. Let's create a blank workspace this time, and we'll start from scratch. So the reader we're going to choose is the file geodatabase. So under Readers, pick Add Reader, and we're going to browse in the dropdown. I like to just type Esri, E-S-R-I, and then in the list, you could see all the different formats that Esri has.
