Restore databases and mailboxes
- In a previous video we backed up our exchange databases. What we're going to do now is restore our databases, but first we need to make sure that we have checked that the databases can be overwritten. This kind of procedure would happen if your mailbox database became corrupt and no longer mounted and you needed to restore the email as quickly as possible. If we go to maintenance, after going into the properties of our mailbox database, we want to check the box that says this database can be overwritten by restore and click save. Of course you want to double check that we've also done this on our other database, which it is. Now we can go into our backup program and click on recover. It's going to attempt to recover the mailbox databases that we just backed up. Click next. We've only done one backup so it's pretty easy to choose which date it is.
