Prepare Active Directory (AD) for Exchange
- [Instructor] Exchange Server 2019 incorporates itself into Active Directory in a Windows Server environment. So we need to prepare Active Directory prior to the Exchange installation even if we already have an older version of Exchange installed on another server. Let's right click on our Start menu and go to a Windows PowerShell or command prompt, either one, we just need to make sure that we are in with the administrator capabilities. I'm going to type cmd to take us out of PowerShell and bring us back into the command prompt and let's make sure we've got the right drive letter. We see Exchange is mounted on the D drive. So we'll switch to the D drive and now we'll type the following command. We type setup.exe and then we want to accept the Exchange Server license terms and we want to prepare the schema. So we'll hit Enter and now it starts the preparation to upgrade the schema so Exchange Server 2019 can be installed.…
