Plan the namespace model

- [Voiceover] Namespaces are how both the internet and your internal users find and use your Exchange 2016 server. Without proper implementation, you will not connect or connect with errors. So what is a namespace when it comes to Exchange Server? Well a namespace starts with your domain name where you'll be receiving email. So, for instance, if we say clickvideo.org is your namespace domain, then you want to add domain subnames to clickvideo.org, such as mail. Mail is part of your namespace. Autodiscover, Autodiscover is also part of your namespace and it's used for ActiveSync. So you may need multiple different subnames to your domain name in order to create your entire namespace. Each name has a purpose. Mail may be used for Outlook Web Access. You may also have another name that designates a specific data center in case your mail servers are spread out over multiple different locations. Such as, you could have the name of the city in front of your domain as part of your namespace.…
