Plan backup and recovery strategy
- [Instructor] There are many different options when we want to discuss backup and recovery strategies such as the exchange native data protection, which is Microsoft's preferred architecture for recovering email and other messages like calendars and contacts from our database. It does not include any plan for any type of backup software. It relies on creating database availability groups which synchronize the data between multiple exchange servers and in multiple locations if possible. It can also be a hybrid solution between an on-premise and Microsoft 365 option. Microsoft recommends multiple copies of synced or non-lagged copies and this is done automatically in the background when you create a database availability group using multiple on-premise exchange servers. The administrator is not always aware of these DAGs. The lagged copy can restore email from a corrupt database anywhere from one hour to many days later.…
