Manage shared mailboxes - Microsoft Exchange Server Tutorial
From the course: Planning and Configuring a Microsoft Messaging Platform
Manage shared mailboxes
- [Instructor] Shared mailboxes allow a group of users to view and send email from a common mailbox and share a common calendar. This is kind of what a public folder used to be in previous versions of Exchange but is now converted to be a mailbox. We're in recipients under the shared tab. We'll click on plus to create a new shared mailbox. We'll give it the display name. We'll just call it SharedMailbox so we know exactly what it is. And I'll copy that for the Alias. And I'm going to add some users. I'm going to add the Administrator, as well as Jen. We have some additional options. We can choose which database it sits on. And we can also create an archive to store old email, as well as add an Address book policy. Let's skip those and just choose Save. On the right-hand side we see the In-Place Archive is not enabled. It does give us the ability to enable it if we want. We're not under any In-Place Hold for compliance…
