- [Instructor] Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 has several hardware and software requirements and recommendations. The first one when it comes to hardware is you have to have at least a 64-bit Intel processor. There's no requirement to how many processors or how many cores per processor. However, you have to have at least an Intel or AMD 64-bit processor. And that's because we need to install this on a 64-bit operating system using Windows. As far as recommended RAM, Microsoft states you must have at least 128 gigabytes on the Mailbox Server and 64 gigabytes on the Edge Transport Server. Now, we've changed this from required to recommended because it will install with much less RAM despite Microsoft saying it is a requirement to have what's stated here. Many small businesses might get away with 32 gigabytes of RAM on either one. However, as mailbox sizes grow or the amount of users are added there could be a slowdown at a certain point.
