Configuring linked mailboxes

- [Instructor] In a previous video, we talked about linked mailboxes. And you would create a linked mailbox when your orginizational's mailbox servers are in a separate resource forest, and you want to ensure that users can access the free busy info across the two forests. Free busy information is the information that shows whether or not that user's available when trying to setup an appointment. All linked mailboxes have two user account associations. A user in the same forest as the mailbox. This user will be disabled, because it's just a placeholder for the user in the other forest. Also, a user in the other trusted forest that you want to link to. We would need two domains in order to create a linked mailbox. Creating linked mailboxes can assist to organizations that need to trust each other due to mergers, acquisitions, or other business purposes, but have separate linked user and email information.
