Checking database integrity

- [Instructor] If we believe our Exchange Server database is acting erratically, we can check the integrity of the database using a free tool that comes with Exchange Server 2019 called ESEUTIL. We need to make sure we have the name of our database, which we see here, and then switch over to a command line. I've gone ahead and opened up from the command line the Bin folder, which is in our Exchange Server V15 folder. And from here, we're going to paste in a command, and this will check the integrity of our Exchange database. We can use a free utility from Microsoft called ESEUTIL, and we're using the /G switch. There's many different switches. And some of those switches do repairs and others take things offline to compact the database, and this one checks the integrity of the database. And if we see the path here, we've gone to Program Files, Microsoft, et cetera, until we get to the actual EDB file, which is the file that holds all of the email.
