To apply the z test for independent samples Joe Schmuller (1) calculates and converts x̅1 – x̅2 into a z score by subtracting the null hypothesized difference from the sample means and divide by the standard error of the differnce between means. (2) Rejecting H (sub 0) if the z-score is in the Rejection region cut off by the critical value and (3) apply calculations to a training scenario.
