What you should know

- [Instructor] As you get started in this course, there's a few things you should know. First of all, hopefully you have a basic understanding of the investment fundamentals that are involved with stocks and bonds. If you're not familiar with basic stocks and bonds including things like different multiples that are used, the basics of pricing, how bands work and the characteristics of bonds, et cetera, I have provided you with a handout that includes a variety of definitions and key formulas you'll need to know ranging from things like the priced earnings multiple, and price to sales multiple to say the trainer measure, and the sharp ratio. In addition to having a basic understanding of investment fundamentals, you should also have some basic familiarity with Excel. An ability to use formulas, ability to navigate around Excel, highlight different cells, things like that. If you're ready then, let's go ahead and get started.
