What you should know

- [Instructor] Thanks again for your interest in this course. Before I get started, I'd like to give you an overview of things that you should know to get more out of this course. First is that you should feel comfortable creating formulas using absolute and relative references. Absolute references don't change when formulas are copied between cells whereas relative references do, and knowing how to use them properly will help you a lot. Also, you should be comfortable creating and formatting charts. This is a course about visual analysis. You should have access to accurate business data if you want to do this on your own. The fact that you are doing a statistical process analysis means that you have a process to analyze, and although I include sample files, there's a lot to be said for analyzing the data that you have available at your own business. And finally, you should be willing to explore statistical process control beyond this course. I cover the three main types of charts that you will encounter in statistical process control, that as you might imagine, this is a rich field with a lot of different techniques that you can use and charts that you can create based on your process. That said, I hope that what I teach you here gives you a springboard and a platform that you can use to go out and learn more on your own.
