What is Excel used for?
- [Instructor] What's Excel all about? What is it used for? If you've been using Excel for a bit, you've probably asked yourself that question, or maybe you're brand new with Excel. One way of looking at Excel is, it's just a giant grid of columns and rows. But more likely Excel's being described as a spreadsheet package. And that it is. It's a lot more though. Here's a spreadsheet. We can do a lot with this. We can keep track of a budget. We can extend this over a year. Maybe we've got a budget looks like this. Or maybe we simply use Excel to use the column and row layout to keep track of our customers. Or we could just as easily be keeping track of our sales, our transactions, our employees, like we see on the next sheet over here. Excel is used for a variety of reasons.
