Using data from FRED
- [Instructor] When it comes to sales forecasting, it's imperative that you be able to effectively pull data and put it together in a meaningful way so that you can then build forecasts off of it. Let's walk through how we might do this using some basic data from Fred. I'm in the zero three, zero two begin Excel file. Now I've already installed the Fred Excel add in just to make it easy to kind of pull in some data. And I want to envision that we're trying to pull data related to a company selling aftermarket car parts. So I want to pull in data that might help us to forecast what those sales will be. And in particular, if we're selling aftermarket car parts, we're probably very interested in what expected automobile sales are going to be. That is we're probably going to be trying to forecast, vehicle sales in the form of automobiles and light trucks. So I'm going to pull data on this from Fred as well as couple other variables.…
