- [Instructor] One of the most appealing aspects 2 of working with pivot tables is the speed 3 with which you can change the layout, 4 the appearance of a pivot table. 5 I've got some data here, it's about 900 rows. 6 I want to create a pivot table on a new sheet. 7 I'll simply go to the insert tab in the ribbon 8 and pivot table. 9 Excel figures out the extent of the data, 10 goes down to row nine 10 from columns A through G. 11 I'll simply click okay, we'll be on a new sheet. 12 And in the pivot table, 13 based on the pivot table field list we see to the right, 14 I'd like to track items sold. 15 So I'll click the items box. 16 That's a numeric field. 17 It will automatically appear in the values area. 18 I want to track data initially by date. 19 That will automatically appear in the row labels area. 20 And let's break this out by region, 21 which I want as a columns label entry. 22 So a pretty small pivot…
