Use range names for more readable formulas

- [Instructor] You can make Excel formulas more readable 2 and provide better worksheet documentation 3 if you use a range name. 4 A range name can be applied to a single cell 5 or a group of cells. 6 In this worksheet, we're about to calculate a new salary. 7 I'll be using cell H2 in my formula, 8 as well as the data from cell M1, the percent of increase. 9 So standard way to write the formula 10 could be equal H2 times that amount in cell M1 plus H2. 11 Now, looking ahead and thinking ahead, 12 what we will be doing, 13 if we want to copy this down the column, 14 we want the reference to M1 to stay the same, 15 so we can click after the M1. 16 And I could have done this before 17 putting it in the +H2. 18 But anyway, going back here, 19 we can press the function key F4. 20 That makes this an absolute address 21 so we could complete the entry 22 and then copy it down the column. 23 And there's certainly nothing…
