- [Instructor] Excel has two functions 2 called random number functions, 3 and although they're not for everybody, 4 they do have some important uses. 5 I've got a list here, 6 and from time to time it grows, it shrinks, 7 and periodically we want to do some spot checking 8 of our recording process here 9 and make sure that information is correct. 10 We'd like to pull eight or 10 of these at random. 11 You can sort a list in random order. 12 Imagine how you might be doing this 13 with a list of orders or shipments. 14 It's a certain form of quality control. 15 You just want to pull a random selection of these. 16 How do we sort this in random order? 17 If you've got a list in a column to the right, 18 a temporary new column. 19 If you are going to be using a column, 20 make sure if you've got any data to the right 21 that it's separated by at least one empty column. 22 You don't really have to put in a heading, 23…
