- [Instructor] When you work with formulas in Excel, 2 invariably you need to work with cell references. 3 In this worksheet called price increase, 4 we're about to calculate a price increase in cell C3. 5 Many times when we work with formulas, 6 we use what are called relative references. 7 Sometimes we need an absolute reference. 8 That's going to be the case here. 9 A formula for the new price can be, 10 and there are some variations on it. 11 No matter how we write the formula, 12 it will involve these two cells 13 equal the current amount times the percent of increase, 14 and will add that increase onto the existing amount. 15 So there's the answer there. 16 And by the way, you probably should round that too. 17 We don't need any pennies in this. 18 Comma two means round to the nearest two decimal places. 19 There we go, so that's an exact amount there. 20 Now the problem with this formula, if we copy it downward, 21 is…
