- [Instructor] The first sheet in our chapter two file is called Data Bars. It's one of three colorful features that allow us to really accentuate the data. We're interested in showing and emphasizing the information in column D. How many years the people have been here. Let's select column D, and on Conditional Formatting on the Home tab, let's take a look at Data Bars. 12 different choices here. The first six are what we call Gradient Fill. And as I slide over the options, keep your eye on column D, see what's happening here. The bar is wider as the number gets higher. There's a bit of an optical illusion here, too. It looks as if the bars might be taller on the right side of the cell. That's because the color's fading a bit to the right. It looks taller. I prefer to use solid fill, but here the possibility is that the numbers are obscured. If you use gold, that tends not to happen. But even if you do use a darker…
