- [Instructor] Excel has a feature called a custom list…and there are two major reasons…for considering use of this feature.…You could be using it for sorting purposes,…sorting in an unusual order.…Or you can use it simply because you need a list often…and you don't want to copy paste it.…We'll show both of these examples,…working off the worksheet called HR List…in our chapter five file.…We've got a list of data here, it's about 700 rows…from columns A over to column L.…In column P we've got a list of the different departments…that exist in the list, in column R this is a list…of the different statuses that appear,…over in our list to the left here, in column F.…
Now, I want to sort this data.…If I simply want to sort on the basis of what's…in column F if I know the data's all together…in one solid cluster I can do this very quickly…by simply going to the Data tab in the ribbon…and clicking the AZ button.…Now column F is where the active cell is at the moment,…we're going to be sorting on that basis, I'll click AZ.…
