Use conditional operation functions: SUMIF and AVERAGEIF

- [Instructor] Two commonly used Conditional Functions in Excel 2016 are SUMIF and AVERAGEIF. In this video, we'll review both of these functions, starting with SUMIF. SUMIF is the function that you'll use to add values in a range where a specific criteria has been met. AVERAGEIF, you'll use to average the values in cells where specific criteria has been met. They are both very similar in which information is included in the function, so once you get the hang of one, you'll be able to do any of these IF statements. Now, on the Excel 2016 MOS Exam, you may be asked to create a SUMIF function, or an AVERAGEIF function. I'll demonstrate how to create each one, so you'll be ready to quickly complete those tasks. I have the 05_03 exercise file open, so let's get started. Let's begin with the table at the top, the Total Prior Year's Sales for 2015, that's going to be our Prior Year right here.
