- [Instructor] There are many formatting options available for working with charts in Excel 2016. In this video we'll talk about trendlines. Now trendlines help us see a variance in our data over a period of time. And this will help us forecast the likely path that the sale of our products are going to take in the future. On the Excel 2016 MOS Expert exam you may be asked to add two different types of trendlines, a linear trendline and a linear forecast trendline. You may also be asked to add a secondary axis to a chart or to create a custom chart template. In this video I'll show you how to add the two types of trendlines, how to add a secondary axis, and then we'll save our chart as a custom template. I have the 05_01 exercise file open, so let's go ahead and get started. Here is our chart that shows our top five products for 2016. First, let's go ahead and add a trendline to our data.
