- [Denis] Excel SWITCH function, a logical function is a powerful tool, and sometimes you'll see it compared with the IFS function, that's also a logical function, but at other times you'll see it compared with some of the lookup functions and even the CHOOSE function, and those are lookup and reference functions. In this worksheet here, we've got some data in column E, and using in column F here, the XLOOKUP function possibly, we're simply looking up that word in a table over there in columns A and B. If it happens to be found in column A, we get our answer out of column B. So as you look over there, I think you can see pretty clearly why that's a 71. We could have used the VLOOKUP function, XLOOKUP ultimately is better, but not everybody has it, you have to have the office 365 version with the latest upgrades.
