- [Narrator] In this video we are going to explore four Date functions. The NOW function returns the system date and time. The TODAY function returns just the system date. The WEEKDAY function will take any date that you give it and tell you which day of the week that date fell on, or will fall on. And the WORKDAY function, will take information that you supply, such as what the start date of a project is, how many days you think it will take to complete, and if there are any holidays that are going to fall within that time frame that will affect the final date. Let's take a look at our Date Functions workbook. First, let's use the NOW function. I clicked in F1 and I'll type in equals now, open closed parenthesis. When I hit Tab or Enter, and I expand the width of this cell, you'll see that it returned the date June 13th, 2019 and the system time. Now let's compare that to the TODAY function.
