- [Instructor] Excel has an unusual function called indirect 2 and also an unusual formula construction, 3 called an intersection formula. 4 And we can use them both when trying 5 to extract data from a list. 6 Now a list like this could be a lot larger. 7 These could be days out of the year 8 or weeks out of the year. 9 But nevertheless, in the example we see here, 10 we can extract data. 11 We can do it in a variety of different ways. 12 And rather than going down the path 13 of using VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, index match, 14 which certainly could work here, let's make it easier 15 by starting with an intersection kind of formula. 16 You might not have seen these before. 17 They're a little unusual. 18 I'm going to start to type something in one 19 of the cells out here 20 that's going to be based on looking in a certain column 21 and looking in a certain row. 22 You might be familiar with the index function. 23 That…
