- [Instructor] One of the really nice applications for business analytics in HR is around goal setting. We can use business analytics tools to help us to tailor specific goals for employees whether these are sales goals like quotas for instance or productivity goals or some other sort of goal. The only constraint of course, is that it needs to be a numerical goal. Something that we can measure quantitatively. Let's take a look at how this works. I'm in the 03 03 begin Excel file. Now, we've gone through and taken a set of data from a set of hypothetical sales reps over time. And these sales reps sell a certain amount of product each day. Sometimes they're pretty successful. Sometimes they're less successful. But one of the challenges when it comes to managing employees is always trying to figure out how to motivate these guys.
